This Privacy Policy explains how SyngyMAXIM (“SyngyMAXIM”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use our website, our SMAX student information platform, and the mobile apps we publish on the Apple App Store and Google Play (together, the “Services”).

Information you give us
- Contact details and enquiries: name, email address, phone number, company and the message you send through our forms.
- Account information: for apps and platforms, details such as name, email address, phone number, username, password and profile information.
- Content you provide: information, documents or files you submit while using a Service.
- Support communications: the messages and attachments you send to our support team.
Information provided by your institution or employer
Many of our Services are deployed by a school, university, company or other organization. That organization may give us information about its students, staff or customers so that we can provide the Service. In that case the organization decides why the information is used and we process it on its instructions.
Information collected automatically
- Device and app information: device model, operating system, app version, language and unique app identifiers.
- Log and diagnostic data: IP address, date and time of access, crash reports and performance data.
- Usage information: the features you use and how you interact with the Service.
- Location: precise or approximate location only where a feature needs it (for example geo-fenced attendance), and only with your permission.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website does not use advertising or tracking cookies. It stores only your light or dark theme choice in your browser. Services we link to, such as YouTube, LinkedIn and Facebook, have their own privacy practices.

We keep personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including to meet legal, accounting and reporting requirements, and for as long as an account is active or an institution's contract requires. When information is no longer needed we delete or de-identify it. Backups are overwritten on a regular cycle.

We use administrative, technical and physical safeguards that are appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict or object to our processing of your personal information, to receive a copy in a portable format, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California may also ask what personal information we collect and disclose, and may not be discriminated against for exercising their rights. Children's privacy
Our Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them without verifiable consent. Where a school or other organization uses our Services with students, that organization is responsible for obtaining any consent required and we process student information only on its instructions. If you believe a child has given us personal information without appropriate consent, contact us and we will delete it.
Mobile apps
Our apps ask only for the device permissions needed for features you use, such as notifications, camera (for example, to scan a code), photos or location. You can change permissions at any time in your device settings. The privacy information shown on the Apple App Store (App Privacy) and Google Play (Data safety) describes the data practices of each individual app. Where an app lets you create an account, you can request deletion of that account at any time on our account and data deletion page.

Our Services may link to third-party sites and services, such as YouTube, LinkedIn, Facebook, Substack and Medium. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please read their policies.
